Parking a domain involves directing one domain to another to display the same content. This can be particularly useful if you own multiple domains and want them all to point to a single website. At LyteHosting, you can easily park a domain on an addon domain by following these steps:

STEP 1: Log in to cPanel.

There are two methods to log into your cPanel.

  • Method 1: Log in to your cPanel directly.
  • Method 2: Log in to your cPanel through your Customer Portal.

Domain Already Exists Error

Error from domain wrapper: Domain already exists; it was not added.: example.domain.com

This error can occur while trying to park a domain on an addon domain and is typically due to one of the following reasons:

1. The Domain Already Exists: The domain you’re attempting to add might already exist in your addon domains, parked domains, or subdomains.

Resolution: Delete the domain from its current location (addon, parked, or subdomains) before proceeding with the parking process.

2. The Subdomain Already Exists: cPanel automatically creates a subdomain for the addon domain, which might conflict with an existing subdomain.

Resolution: Modify the subdomain field manually. For instance, if you’re parking example.com on example.com.au, cPanel might autofill the Subdomain field as an example, which may already exist. Please change it to a different value, such as exampleau.

By resolving these issues, you can successfully park your domain on the addon domain.
