Can I Change the Primary Domain of my Web Hosting Account? Print

  • Domain, Primary Domain, Hosting Account
  • 271

Yes, you can change the primary domain of your cPanel hosting account. However, this option is limited to one-time only per cPanel account.

Changing the primary domain updates the main domain associated with your hosting account. This can be useful if you’ve rebranded or decided to use a different domain as your main website.

NOTE:

  • Once the primary domain change is completed, it cannot be changed again.
  • Addon and parked domains will remain unaffected, but you may need to update website paths, configurations, or email settings linked to the old domain.
  • If you need additional changes after the first update, you’ll need to purchase a new hosting account.

To request a primary domain change, kindly reach out to LyteHosting Support with your new domain name. Our team will assist you with the process.

Before making the change, ensure your new domain is fully registered and pointed to LyteHosting’s nameservers to avoid downtime.
