The different techniques for changing cPanel passwords are covered in this article. Depending on your hosting, you can change your cPanel password using various methods.
Method 1: Through your cPanel Login Page
STEP 1: Open a browser and type the URL for your cPanel.
STEP 2: Click the Reset Password link on the login page of your cPanel.
STEP 3: Enter your cPanel username on the following page.
STEP 4: Click on “Reset Password” when finished.
STEP 5: Click “Send Security Code” after entering your sign-up email address.
STEP 6: Check your email account and note the security code.
STEP 7: After entering your security code on the login page, click Submit.
STEP 8: Input your new password.
STEP 9: After verifying your new password, click the “Set Password” option.
STEP 10: The following page will show the successful notice. Click “Login to cPanel.”
STEP 11: To access your cPanel, enter your new password and cPanel username.
Method 2: Through cPanel (Password & Security section)
You can use the Password & Security section of cPanel to reset your password if you're already logged in. This can be done using 2 options:
OPTION 1: In the top-right corner of cPanel, click the User Menu icon. From the options provided, click on Password & Security.
OPTION 2: Within cPanel, locate Preferences and click on Password & Security.
STEP 1: Enter your old cPanel password, and your new password twice. Another option for creating a secure password is to use the Password Generator tool.
STEP 2: Once completed, click on “Change your password now”.
STEP 3: Also included in this section are suggestions for creating strong passwords.
Method 3: Through WHM (this applies to Dedicated, VPS, and Reseller Hosting)
Changing the passwords for each of your individual cPanel accounts is possible through the WHM. If you're using reseller hosting and are having trouble changing your password using the cPanel login page, follow the steps listed below.
STEP 1: Log in to WHM.
STEP 2: Use the search bar to look for List Accounts.
STEP 3: Click “List Accounts.”
STEP 4: Locate the cPanel account you want to reset the password.
STEP 5: Next to the cPanel's domain, click the “+ icon”.
STEP 6: Your preferred cPanel password should be entered in the Change Password area.
