If your LyteHosting account was terminated due to abuse or policy violations, please note that backups are not retrievable. Once an account is terminated for violating our Terms of Service (TOS), all data is permanently deleted from our servers.

This process is automated and irreversible to maintain the security, integrity, and compliance of our hosting environment.

Why Are Backups Not Available After Termination?

When an account is terminated for abuse, the following data is permanently deleted:

  • All website files.
  • Databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
  • Emails and mailboxes.
  • Stored backups within the hosting account.

This deletion helps ensure that malicious, harmful, or non-compliant content does not remain on the server and protects the stability of the hosting platform.

Once the termination process is completed, no recovery option is available.

How to Prevent Data Loss in the Future

To protect your data and avoid unexpected termination:

1. Follow LyteHosting’s Terms of Service

  • Make sure your website content, emails, and activities comply with our Terms of Service.
  • Avoid sending spam, hosting harmful content, or overusing server resources.

2. Maintain Regular Off-Site Backups

  • Always download and store your own backups externally (e.g., on Google Drive or your local computer).
  • This ensures you have a copy of your files even if your account is suspended or terminated.

3. Monitor Account Activity: Check logs and emails regularly for alerts about resource usage or policy violations.

While backups cannot be provided after a termination due to abuse, you can still reach out to LyteHosting Support if you have questions regarding your account’s status or the reason for termination. We’re here to help you understand the issue and guide you for future hosting compliance.
